In Tribute to Roy Johnson

We said goodby to Roy (Jim's Godfather)  yesterday in Janesville, together with a wonderful church full of his many friends and prolific family- (including 19 grandchildren!)
Above is a picture of their family home which is now up for sale, and a picture of  Mom and Ann getting caught up.  They were still at it when we were informed that it was time to close the building! Ann will be living in the cities in the future and she and Mom will be able to get together much easier now. The eulogy was written and given by their son Chris- a beautiful job; everyone loved it!
Farewell Roy, we will remember you and we will miss you.

Happy Birthday Kathy!

Historial footnote about this day: 

Dad proposed to Mom in Winnebago on February 12. He wanted to propose on Valentine's Day, but Mom was teaching in Cannon Falls during the week, where she lived in a small basement apartment with Ann (soon-to-be) Johnson. Mom came home to Winnebago on the weekends, and February 12 was the weekend day closest to Valentine's Day the year of the proposal. According to first-hand sources, presumably not fake news, Dad got down on one knee and asked Mom if she would marry him. Mom had no idea that Dad was intending to propose, so she said she needed some time to think it over. Approximately 62 seconds later, she said yes.

12! Happy Birthday Sam

How can he possibly be 12 already? A tween! Wishing a Happy Birthday to our handsome, smart, athletic and isatiably curious #2 son. Even though Sam had practice yesterday, we sqeezed in time for cake and presents last night - and there is a fun party on deck at the Trapeze center on Saturday.
