Happy Birthday, Mary Ellen

Too bad your birthday ended up on the 9/11 "Patriot's Day" thingy. But I, for one, am NOT forgetting that the true meaning of 9/11 is Mary Ellen's birthday. So there! Have a happy one, sis. Anyone out there have a good Mimi memory? POST.

Many memories, but I have a favorite facial expression. Have you ever noticed how most people on the planet squint and glare when faced with some sort of challenge? Ever notice the way that MEL's eyes actually become wider and her facial expression more open when facing a challenge?

Stenzel-heart in action.

I have good memories of fishing at the lake with Auntie Mary because she knew what she was doing. We dug up worms and used pieces of canned corn or leftover food. We caught stuff, too! Fishing with Noche is not nearly as fruitful.

Mary Ellen is an incredible help in times of crisis- after my injury in 2006, ME consistently kept in touch and followed through for me and my family- we were and are grateful for her! Jim, Laurie Joey and Sam

Mary Ellen did such a nice job of moderating the 50th wedding anniversary. And I am grateful for all her help taking care of Emily, Andrew, and Jack - especially when they were young - because it gave the parents a much needed break. Thanks!
