Merriment

Why is it that people always seem to end up in the kitchen at parties?

TOP TEN REASONS FOR HANGING OUT IN THE KITCHEN:
(1) Its centrally located so more is happening.
(2) A person can keep track of several conversations at the same time because so many people congregate there.
(3) People like to either feel useful or show others that they are at least willing to be useful.
(4) A person is less likely to be scolded if she/he spills her/his drink.
(5) Social areas are for guests; the regular cool people prefer utility rooms.
(6) The girl-to-guy ratio is generally better if you prefer female conversation and/or companionship (which most people openly or secretly do).
(7) There's generally at least one clock so that people can monitor how long it will be before they get to eat or leave, depending on the circumstances and the quality of the company.
(8) Conversation in a kitchen doesn't have to be so polite and socially acceptable. You can even fart in the kitchen and be praised for it. "Nice one!"
(9) Small spaces are better for rubbing bodies.
(10) FOOD!
